Just six days after performing in Accidental Music Festival’s Man Forever event, 
UCF professor Thad Anderson assembles a near-midnight run posse to do Terry Riley’s populist signature, In C, as part of an international fiftieth anniversary ‘A Worldwide Day of In C’ at Gallery At Avalon Island in downtown Orlando at 9 p.m. on Sunday, December 21st. The cm5 recommends joining this global happening in-person or by auditioning the daylong stream here.

“Inspired by the communal spirit of Riley’s work and the composition’s 50th anniversary this year, ‘A Worldwide Day of In C’ unites musicians from all over the globe in a day-long celebration of music and community with live-streamed performances occurring throughout the day with a variety of ensembles in over 30 cities around the world.”
Thad Anderson and UCF Collide Ensemble’s take of Terry Riley’s In C follows twenty other website performances yet will include dynamics, instruments, textures and combinations of the various melodic sections unlike any of the others. The enduring beauty of In C is both in the compositional ideas and the sum of the variations that the performers add every time the piece starts up.
