Our guests, the fellows, have flown into the United States to meet and immediately start collaborating on music, with workshop leaders trumpeter Dave Douglas, Bang On A Can founding member Mark Stewart, and legendary creative music guiding light Pauline Oliveros in consulting roles. This initial process is currently occurring at Atlantic Center For The Arts in New Smyrna, Fl. The second stage involves hitting the road, with Orlando and the Timucua white house acting as the first post-Atlantic Center For The Arts presentation, culminating in a two-week tour up the Eastern seaboard.
What will happen at Timucua white house? There are acoustic musicians, electronic musicians, dancers, visual artists, vocalists and rappers from far and wide recently collaborating for the first time in their lives. List this event as a salon showcase, so expect a mix and match of various musicians and aesthetics throughout the evening.
Participate in the Timucua instant arts community created by each event by appearing willing- described by composer Anthony Braxton as the “friendly experiencer.” Timucua encourages a small plate dish and a bottle of wine for community distribution. We’ll see you there.
